![]() Carving a Community out of a Forest: Albemarle Turns 150 Located in the Museum's Heritage Gallery: November 2006 through February 2008 Throughout the end of 2006 and 2007 the Stanly County Museum will celebrate the founding of Albemarle. The Museum's Heritage Gallery will showcase the exhibit "Carving a Community out of a Forest: Albemarle Turns 150." The exhibit details the history of Albemarle from its humble origins as a muddy crossroads, through its industrial development as a center for textile manufacturing, to its growing interconnection with Metrolina, North Carolina. ![]()

Albemarle: 100 Years of Photographs Located in the Snuggs House: October 2006 through October 2007 Be sure to check out the historic photograph exhibit at the Snuggs House. Nearly 40 images of historic Albemarle are on display, detailing the history of the city from the late nineteenth century through the late twentieth century.
